Thank you for your interest in applying for a counselor position at the Meadowbrook Day Camp. We have not yet updated this page for 2021.
We hire group and specialty counselors who enjoy children and who are able to provide a cheerful, nurturing, safe environment for them. Leadership qualities, dependability, cooperativeness, a sense of humor, sports ability, and enthusiasm are all traits that we value.
The day camp hires three levels of counselors to work during the summer months.
Senior Group Counselors are all 21 years or older with some teaching, parenting, group leadership or related experience.
Assistant Group Counselors are college or high school students with a variety of majors and outside interests who assist the Senior Group Counselors. Openings are extremely limited at this level and often don't become available until late spring if at all.
Lead Specialty Counselors are college students or older who have a definite skill in or knowledge about a particular activity: art, archery, boating, ceramics, drama, leather craft, ropes, music, dance, team sports, etc. Swim Staff are certified Lifeguards with current LGT certification. Our swim staff members are expected to teach Red Cross Swim lessons and preference is given to persons who hold a WSI or who are willing to get certification prior to the start of camp.
The Day Camp provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, status as a Vietnam-era or special disabled veteran, or as a member of the military, or status in any group protected by applicable federal and state laws.
The 2021 Season:
The 2021 camp season runs for six weeks: July 6 – August 13. Counselor hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Group counselors may have an overday (till 7:00 pm) or an overnight twice during the summer depending upon the age of the campers in their group.
Your attendance is also required at our orientation sessions scheduled in June prior to the start of camp and at the camper open house prior to the opening of camp.
Counselors must be able to commit to all six weeks of the camp season.
The Application Process:
All applications can be completed via CampSite online by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
Please complete the entire form including application questions and references.
Your application will be reviewed upon receipt, and if your qualifications appear to meet our needs, we will contact you about setting up an interview.
Meadowbrook Day Camp conducts a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and a SORI (Sex Offender Record Information) check on all summer camp counselors, volunteers, and staff members per Massachusetts Department of Health Regulations.
